So without further ado, here are the basics in making your turquoise ring last a lifetime:
Be careful. This is the 1st rule in taking care of all turquoise, as they are only slightly tougher than regular window glass. Avoid any forceful movement when wearing your ring, and make efforts to be extremely careful in all your hand gestures.
Wear it when you can. The moisture from your body permits turquoise to shine brightly, so don’t be afraid to wear it as much as you can.
Keep away from water. Even if turquoise needs a certain degree of moisture, dipping it in water exposes it to chemicals and other abrasive materials. Take your turquoise ring off before getting in the pool or bath, and it’ll last an entire life.
Don’t let it dry out. Over the top heat, cold and sunlight damages turquoise, and it should be kept far away from these risks as much as possible.
Wipe it with a clean cloth. This both cleans the turquoise ring and permits it to shine as well. Just make sure your cloth is nice and soft, or you may end up scratching the skin of the ring.
