Rings are personalized by engraving in a variety of ways. The first, and most familiar method is engraving an engagement or wedding ring along the inside of the band. You’re dealing with limited space to communicate your message, but the options are only limited by your imagination. Some people have engraved the date of the wedding, or perhaps even the date the couple met. Obviously, if you’re engraving a wedding ring, the wedding date is appropriate. In the case of a promise ring, you might consider engraving the day the couple met or the day they became a couple. One might also consider a special word that describes the couple, or even private nicknames shared by the couple. Personalized rings are not restricted to engraving, although it is the easiest and most cost effective way to make a ring individualized. It’s possible to have gemstones themselves engraved, but this is something fairly specialized that usually requires the stone be sent away.
