How the Shape of Women Bodies Have Changed?

Results of some surveys indicate that now women are half a stone bulkier, two inches taller, and have an increase of three numbers in their shoe sizes than what they had sixty years back. In the 60s, a large number of British women had a trim and slender physique with a 5ft-2inches petite figure.

The shoe size was relatively smaller that time, which is 31/2, and most of the women were slim enough to wear the size 12 dress. The lifestyle too was very different before. Today, majority of the women work in offices while at that time the women were more active than they are today. The slim and trim figures may be due to the then active lifestyle.

Let us directly jump to 2009, and we notice that we were never as careful about our figures as we are now, but still most among us have ballooned. We are taller, bulkier, and less curvilinear as it has been pointed out by the UK National women figure Survey.

It was in 1951 when UK National sizing survey was conducted last time, and if we compare the stats of that survey to the current ones, a considerable difference can be easily noticed, which is shocking to some extent as well. It is a good sign that we have gained two inches in height but our feet have spread outward, and we are also bulkier. These days, our hourglass shape measures as 38-34-40, and there are many struggling to get their shape back.

Now hips are nearly one, and a half inch bigger, and so are the busts, and when it comes to waist, there is a difference of six and a half inches, which indicates that almost all of us have a little, or somewhat bigger tummy. These changes have not only affected our looks, but they have also cast their impacts on our health.

There are certain factors behind these changes in our shapes, for instance, if we are taller now, it is a result of plentiful, and better diet. Now we have all the important nutrients in our diets in a right proportion that are considered essential for proper body growth. This gain in height is also a result of some changes in our environment, as we have warmer homes, better sanitation, and much improved medicines now.

On the other hand, the weight gain is an issue nowadays, and the credit goes to the sluggish lifestyle. Now the people are more inclined towards indoor activities. Rather than staying active, or indulging themselves in energetic activities, they prefer to watch television. There is also little or even no workout on daily basis.

It is very easy to put on weight, but it takes all your energy to loose a single pound in quite a lot of time. To get bulkier is not the destiny; in fact, it is your careless attitude towards life.
