Ok, My 16 month old was in size 3 diaper from 5 months up untill 16 months, He is though Now in 3T shirts, and 2T pants… He just is not stopping! He is 30lbs, (slimmer than my first), but 34 1/2 in tall, (as tall as or slightly taller than my oldest at this age)…
When do kids start slowing down again? Have your or anyone you know kids ever "caught up" to the size of the older sibling? They are only 14 1/2 months apart. If he Grows as fast as my other son, he will have him out grown by his 2nd birthday.
Suggestion:
My girls are 23 months apart. From the time they were 4 and 2, they were the same height and wearing the same sized clothes. They both still wear the same sized clothes (they are 9 and 11 now) and my 9 year old is about an inch and a half taller than her sister. She weighs a little less though.
My oldest takes after my mother-in-law's side of the family, who are all on the shorter side, with 5'4" being the tallest. My youngest takes after my mom's side, where they are averaged around 5'6.
With my kids, they slowed down for a bit, then went through growth spurts again. It sure sounds like your younger one with pass up your older one for sure! Which is completely normal in some cases. Sheesh…I knew what you meant about the comparisons! LOL!
And to answer the original question…no, it isn't weird. Not always common, but completely normal!!
