My Laptop Takes Ages to Turn On, Sometimes Nothing Loads at All?

anyone got any ideas why, it had a virus on it i might not ave got it out right, its been slow since then, thanks

Suggestion:

Keep tapping F8 whilst windows is booting up, until you get the option to boot in safemode.
Go to start— run, and type msconfig. then go to startup, and uncheck all the list of things that are starting up with windows, then restart.

Next

Go to http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html and download, install, and update spybot. Once you have done this let it run a scan and fix whatever errors it finds
