Sports Speakers Clash with Crusade Against Youth Obesity

It is easy for a child to forget that they can play outside when they are so immersed in playing computer games. It can be hard to convince your child that real life play is fun when they are surrounded by virtual games. Sport is a great way to entice your children away from computer games and technology as it offers a fun and interactive activity.
Famous sports stars who enjoy popular media attention are a good way to persuade children to get involved with sport as they are good role models and children often look up to them. Focusing on the success, health and happiness of sports stars can give children something to look forward to achieving. Schools are inviting sports speakers into their classrooms to talk to the pupils about the importance of learning and being active. It has been certified that meeting a sports star has a positive impact on children who are more likely to be active and healthy in their life.

Being active and playing sport in childhood can reduce the risk of us developing serious health problems as we get older. It is becoming more common for children and young poeple to grow up overweight or obese, even from the age of five. Diabetes is becoming more common in younger children and asthma is increasing, as well as muscle and joint problems starting at earlier ages.
Children need some sort of activity every day, even if it is a low impact exercise like walking. By having something where the child is being encouraged to move around and is doing it with their peers, it will be easier to build a foundation for good physical health through activity, and can be good for their social skills.
